Jedi Knights

The Jedi Knights were the protectors of the Old Republic for some 25,000 years before the Galactic Civil War. They were well respected throughout the galaxy. The Jedi's main power came from the Force;--and energy field created by all living things, and surrounds and penetrates them with its essence. The Jedi are able to manipulate the Force at will. But there was also a dark side to the Force.

When a Jedi turns to the dark side of the Force, he claims the title of Dark Lord of the Sith. One of these Sith Lords, named Darth Vader, helped the Emperor hunt down and eliminate all but a few Jedi. Two of the remaining Jedi were Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Jedi Master Yoda.

Jedi Masters

To be a Jedi Master is a great honor. The title of Jedi Master goes only to the strongest of the Jedi; those who are incredibly strong with the Force, and are also very wise. Jedi Masters teach their skills to other soon-to-be-Jedi. The only Jedi Master to survive the elimination led by Darth Vader was Yoda.
